Realistically without overwhelming fian but still allowing some leeway instead of pure Battanian, I've been setting up my party this way: 15 Oathsworn 15 Wildling 20 Fian 20 Sharpshooter 15 Cavalry 15 Horse archer. Assuming 100 troop party but I usually run 120 - 180 party with my mid level character.Then Raganvad decided battania would go to him even tho its my territory so I declaired my territory independent. Buuut as i guess most people are aware, Battania is doomed from the start, being surrounded by all flanks. Specially by valandia that counters most of their AI armies. In my game Battania is exausted from the last war. Most lords are bankrupt and scrambling to rebuild their armies. We also lost about four castles.Early game battania is definitely a good pick (pun intended), but it loses some value as you level up and have a good horse/troop ratio.
