The aptitude exam evaluates candidates on their math skills and reading comprehension. The aptitude exam is given on scheduled dates and times from the Central Florida Electrical JATC. Anyone absent from the aptitude test must wait 6 months before being rescheduled. A score of PASS or FAIL is provided within 24 hours after the exam.

The Electrical Industry Aptitude Test consists of 2 sections; math and reading comprehension. The Algebra and Functions section entails 33 questions within 46 minutes. The Reading Comprehension section consists of 36 questions within 51 minutes. There will be a short break between the two sections. There are no penalties for guessing.If you meet the basic requirements, you will be scheduled to take the NJATC aptitude test battery — if required. The test battery consists of two tests. It will take approximately two and a half hours to complete.
